Welcome to the Mississippi Gerontological Society web site.

OUR PUPOSE:

• Enable those who work with older adults, paid or volunteer, to become more competent in the field of gerontology, and
• Encourage coordination among interested individuals and groups to enhance community involvement in helping other Mississippians achieve more exciting, meaningful and independent lives, and
• Educate the general public to the aging process by including input from the elderly themselves to identify their needs, and
• Advocate for the rights, privileges and responsibilities of older adults in order to enhance their quality of life
